My God, The Profile! How to begin? My friends call me a renaissance man (and I blush furiously). The re are so many things that I enjoy and so many more to find out about! My aim is to share and learn and grow. I`m looking for a renaissance man, a homebody, an artist, an adventurer, a scholar, a hero. A man for whom a lover is an inspiration, a mystery, a-fort, a friend. My first great passion is life. I love life. I love living it in all its facets happy, sad, exciting, boring, etc. Growing older has only deepened my appreciation for life and my part in it. Music is the second great passion of my life, and always has been. My interests fall into some categories (with a few exceptions) classical (early/renaissance, baroque, romantic), folk, Klezmer, Indian, Middle Eastern, and off-the-chart stuff I find difficult to classify. When it-es to non-classical music, my favorite artists tend to be female (David Sylvian is a notable exception). I despise circuit music, although I do drool for House. I must admit, I`m not a big fan of "The Musical" (problems with suspension of disbelief), although there are exceptions here (Into The Woods, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Toot Sweet rocks!, and The Music Box Song gives me chills), Hello Dolly (simply Bahbra), Mame (The man in the moon is a bitch!). My third great passion is reading. While other Americans are watching television (I don`t own one), I am reading. I read in the bathroom, the living room, the bedroom, on the bus, on the train, on the hill with my dog everywhere. My favorite subjects are Fantasy, Science Fiction, and Philosophy. Rather than make further gradations of my other passions, I regard them as the linking verbs for mixing and expressing my three great passions. They`re my tools for crafting experience. They`re the oil that lubricates and interpenetrates the three. They`re the Greek Chorus. They`re the...well you probably get the idea. Some of my favorite tools are thinking and discussing (especially general philosophy, ethics, religion/spirituality, and current events), and play.-e play with me. Teach me. Share with me.
