I`m that guy in a line at a movie or someplace, or at a bar, that you always end up chatting with and thinking "great guy". We even become friends sometimes. You figure I`m straight (since I`m not a "young fit hunk" and I usually give no clues otherwise), although you might have a doubt about that. Welcome! I`m a warm- and open-hearted, energetic man who`d like to establish new relationships. Some may lead to friendships, others to romance. I`ve been in the DC area for 2.5 years, but grew up here, and spent lots of time for business before I came. You might call me a repatriated native!
Friends and co-workers will tell you that I`m enthusiastic, energetic, and sincere. At first blush, some people mistake my enthusiasm for schmooze, but they soon learn that I`m as honest as I am enthusiastic with my complements and warmth. I`m always happy to sing the praises of people, places, and causes that I believe in; although I opt for modesty, I toot my own horn if I think I`m getting a raw deal. I`m kinda cute, if I say so myself!
I like to spend time at home either DIY or cooking for friends. I love to explore and/or play in the District. I like volunteering with the Burgundy Crescent folks too; I`ve loved playing "roadie" for the acts at the local performing arts tent at the last two Pride street fairs. Last month I replaced a bunch of drywall; this month we may need to help each other with sandbags! I like to play, too. I love the Friday jazz concerts in the National Sculpture Garden, and I`d love to ride a Tidal Basin paddleboat this summer.
No surprise to tell you I believe relationships are a combination of work and play. We need to `work` to see if we`re compatible, whether it`s as friends, potential partners, or someone to recommend to others. We have fun doing it, whether it`s a picnic at that concert, all decked out for a State Dinner, or chopping and cooking a dinner-for-two at home. Any of those occasions (and more) count as what we used to call "quality time." What makes quality time great is being present and participating with one another. Sometimes the magic happens washing the dogs, sometimes wearing tuxedos as we enter the White House for dinner.
