Movie Nut In Search of a Bolt I'm a smooth gay white male with an athletic build. I've got broad shoulders and a narrow waist (waist size: 29). I do strength training 3-4 times a week and carefully watch my diet. I'm a "normal," down-to-earth guy-- sincere, honest, open and loyal. I don't play games and do not want to be with a guy who does. I'm masculine but not macho. And I don't flame. I'm fairly well-educated (my B.A. is from Emory [psychology], my first M.A. is from the University of Richmond [psychology], my second M.A. is from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville [English literature], and my Ph.D. coursework is in Renaissance narrative poetry) but I'm not necessarily looking for that level of education in my partner. I'm not attracted to "brainy" guys any more than I am to guys who got a high school education. Some of the stupidest people I know have their Ph.D.s; common sense, a level head, a good sense of humor, and a good dose of compassion are much more valuable to me than a string of letters after your name. I have studied a variety of religions and beliefs (and practiced some as well), including Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, Shinto & Egyptian beliefsystems. I consider myself to be a Christian although I do not attend services regularly. I am, nevertheless, a spiritual person and meditate frequently. I enjoy the Arts, live theater, movies, listening to music, astronomy, & traveling. (I suppose my most interesting "trip" involved the3 months I stayed in Amsterdam at the Hotel Bema, which is run by a Rastafarian named Terry. Modesty and lack of space prohibit me from telling more.) I also enjoy snuggling in on rainy days, Chinese food, candlelight, sci-fi, crisp mornings, Lord of the Rings, anything blue, romantic dinners, thunderstorms, a popping fire, & being held. Staying home, cooking dinner and then curling up on the sofa with a DVD can be heaven if you're doing it with the right guy. But I also like to go to clubs and listen to live bands (dancing optional and only after a few drinks). I am political-- left. I strongly adhere to the principles of diversity and compassion, so, if you are a neo-conservative, be warned.
