Online counsellor and therapist I am a counsellor and therapist working online with gay men and lesbians. I take more of an interviewing approach than an advice-giving approach. I see it as myself and the other person researching the problem together. This involves asking questions about the problem and its history of influence in a persons life or the life of a relationship. I like this style of working because it is respectful of others as the experts in their own lives. Together we can explore what is known and familiar about a problem and then go forward into examining what else we can find out, which in turn10ds to decrease the influence of the problem. I work with goals and motivations as well as problems. Online counselling is great for anyone who is too embarrassed to meet with a counsellor in person. You can even remain anonymous.
